if it were me id prefer a cover that protected the rear also. scratches are evil.

yeah, I also think, what are you supposed to do with it whilst you arent using it? you have to kind of lay it down somewhere, would have been a better design if they flipped round to the back of the device or something.

I don't like having a film cover over the screen as it ruins the interaction and gloss, so i like the retractable nature of them, but they just make it look a bit poo.

I love the idea, depending how it works in reality. I can see them being designed by external companies with custom logos etc. which would be brilliant for those who use the ipad as a portfolio device. Just looks less cumbersome than some of the current covers.

All of this is dependent on how good those magnets actually are though.

got one on my laptop, ipod and HTC desire and theyre great. got a genuine HTC screen protector on my desire too and its held its quality nicely

I'm not too fussed about the back, a few scratches here and there bring character, as long as they are not all over my screen.

Mostly it would be in the house, and when taking out and about would put in laptop section of my bag I think. Only problem is I can't afford one.

If i was going to spend that sort of money I would make sure it was kept pristine. But I'm not so its a bit of a moot point! I will be sticking with my original Ipad as it does all i need it to.

ha, you guys should see my ipad, it gets drooled on and thrown around by my 19 month old daughter including being dropped several times a week.

amazingly its pretty much scratchless and still works perfectly.

it's never been in a case!!!

I keep mine in the apple case for the original because my 18 month old boy likes it so much. He calls it 'big bop bop' as 'bop bop' is my iphone and he watches a video on itunes that has 'bop bop' in it. Mine is pretty much pristine too but the case is pretty vital as it has to contend with the contents of my work bag as well as my son and him spreading egg mayonaisse everywhere!

Mine lives in an incase book jacket, which makes it about twice as thick as it would be normally, and a bit heavier too.

Makes it look less like an iPad when I'm out and about and keeps it pristine front and back.

I don't have kids and I don't have pets, so it doesn't need it, I just like it to be, well, pristine
