iphone ios 4 firmware update

Welcome to 2010 :D

iOS4 was released on the 21st of June, it's same os as that installed on the iPhone4
 
I think we have found the last person to update their iPhone :D :D :D

Only joking :)
 
Can't say it was a terribly impressive update. Folders are nice, not sure the point of the multitasking except maybe for summat like copilot or somesuch. STILL can't change the text ringtone! Oh and yes, nicer wallpaper.

multitasking is nicer than i thought actually, was playing labyrinth yesterday when I got a text, normally would have to close it and read the text then reopen from scratch and wait for it to load, not the case now, goes right back to where it was before, in fact I just opened it again after having it off for 24hrs and its still there in that state

tis pretty cool
 
i have to say os4 is a little buggy or the apps don't support it very well. had mine update for a week now and i have to say not overly impressed.
folders nice adition saves having screen after screen.
 
My wife is refusing to update hers having seen how slow my 3G is now running!

I think it's almost a ploy by Apple to make you upgrade to a 3GS or the new 4 :lol:
 
I'd like to know why the heck they refuse to introduce custom text message tones?
 
I am steering clear of the upgrade for a little while, my other half upgraded his and a few apps seems to have problems.
 
no problems with the update here - new mbx feature is nice.

Not sure what an mbx is, but Google Wu is what I would normally use to find the answer :p
 
mbx = mailbox - where the email goes - if you have multiple email addresses as I have you can now collect all the emails with just one click on OS4
 
My brother has updated is 'new' 3G to OS4, and it does seemto run a little sluggish. The accelerometer takes longer to act, is the big one.

I admit I do like the combined mailboxes....and folders.

I think that's all us 3G owners get isnt it?
 
That is strange, I wonder if certain 3G models are more effected than others. As an example it takes around 10 secs for my camera to start up and all other screens and apps lag for around 2-3 secs before responding once started. The update also wiped out all my music for some odd reason and won't restore them.
My mates 3GS lags a little after the update but nothing like my 3G. Did you do a total reset Marcel or anything else?
 
I thought the 3G was a little laggy anyway, but I've not noticed any discernable difference since the update.

It *was* JB'd before I did it, and I had the custom signal strength indicators on (numeric instead of pretty bars). I didn't turn those off either before update, so updated and theyre still there (half the time :p)
 
My first download attempt at IOS4 on my 3G was pretty painful the phone ran much slower, apps crashed and I have to say I was losing a bit of confidence in the phone, but then I did a full backup and restore and my phone has been much better since then (Thursday night), fingers crossed! :)
 
My 3G is crawling along as well, it's bloody awful, and there ain't no going back to OS3 it appears. I've tried various 'solutions' on the net but none of them work. You can get OS3 back on but then can't get the phone out of restore mode, so have to end up restoring your original backup again, which leaves you back at OS4. It would have been better if the update just wasn't available for 3G users at all.... total pants...
