Yes
im off to Mallorca for a week on monday, I want to take my iphone so I can use the tomtom satnav while out and about but i dont want any charges for data or for calls, what can I do?

Just take out the sim?

pretty sure the GPS relies on the sim card to pick up data...............

you can switch off roaming etc, but no idea as to how this affects the phones capabilities to do x y or z

I asked about this for mine, and if you just turn of the mobile internet in the menu you will be fine, no charges. One very useful thning, for me at least, is it will still geotag each and every photo you take on it. I looooove looking exactly where I took photos in aperture! HTH

If you switch off the roaming capability you turn off the web facility. You then have to rely on wifi hotspots to be able to use the web. I think the tom tom app will require a web based access therefor if you could incur substantial costs aboard if you use it.

where do I turn off all that?

ahh found out how to turn data roaming off, now is there a way to stop people calling me or sending a txt as that would charge me right? Im with 02.
