Hi. I'm hoping someone will have some suggestions that I can try with my printer to improve it's performance as it's driving me mad.
I have a Canon MP970 all-in-one photo printer. When I first got it I was very pleased with what I was getting out of it but now it's not so good.
It seems there's something missing from my printed images in the way of 'punch'. Black and White images seem a bit washed out whether I set the printer to print in greyscale or leave the greyscale untouched and let the printer make black from the colour cartridges.
I haven't changed paper type or ink since buying but I have changed computer (always a Mac). I've downloaded the latest drivers.
When printing in colour there is often a magenta cast which I can sort of compensate for with the printers colour sliders but it's hit and miss and wastes a lot of paper and ink trying to get something acceptable.
In the printer settings I make sure colour management is unchecked but nothing seems to work.
I've cleaned the heads and checked the printout charts and they all seem ok. I don't really know what else to do short of throwing it out of the window and buying another Epson which I never had any problems with.
Any suggestions gratefully recieved.
