I hate being let down , mid week we decided to buy a garden shed . A local company makes them and ,just happened to have the size we wanted made up ready due to a cancelled order , so yeah deal done they would deliver and install this Sunday , confirmation by phone this evening by 8.30 no phone call ,so I phoned him and got a load of b******t that they were to busy ,short staffed etc , trouble we have cleared the space ready for it and have open access to our garden now. ( corner property ) the shed would have been in lieu of a fence panel .. on weds we were life savers as he needed it out of the way … I’m bloody fuming if I say I’ll be somewhere at 10 I’m usually there at 9.45 .hate being let down , comes from years of being my own boss ,the buck stops here etc .. and it’s not like it’s a cheap order either circa 1K. In cash to. Supposed to be phoning back in the morning we shall see ..

Cash, special price or whatever there is a contract of/for the sale.........was the delivery in writing I.e. both parties agreed a condition on the purchase.

Best of luck getting it delivered on time in the location required.

No just done on a handshake , no money yet changed hands . You would think a small company couldn’t afford to lose business . I’ll see what transpires in the morning

It's not so much about the total order value, but the profit. How much would they make on a £1k shed?

Life in business is pretty brutal nowadays.

Regardless of the profit common curtesy should come into it but this seems to happen all the time and you're lucky if you get a call to say they're not coming.

I suppose it comes down to having a lot of customers and not caring if you end up upsetting one. The attitude with many seems to be, lose a customer? Who cares? Customers aren't even worth a phone call.

It appears they will be delivering tomorrow we shall see
