Hello

I'm curious has anyone bought off the Amazon.es Spain site any lenses or pro gear

I just bought a lens from panamoz in china with no issues no far!

Buying from any company within the EU is safe. Why wouldn't it be? There's no more risk than buying from somewhere in the UK, unless you want the ability to be able to drive down and punch someone if they rip you off. :)

 What about the VAT &/or any Import charges or wouldn't that count

There is this thing called the European Union ;) it seems to have done something with import duty amongst member states :D

You pay the IVA (VAT) at the point of purchase. Do you pay VAT separately when you buy things off of Amazon.co.uk?

Thing is that I've only purchased goods from either the UK or HK so wasn't overly sure - but thanks for enlightening me thou :p

I can say now it was a great idea as I got a Nikon 24-70 for 1440 euros and it's alot more in UK amazon.es

On Amazon.co.uk the lens works out at £25 dearer than Amazon.es, Panamoz which I have used and received excellent service have the lens over €140 cheaper than what you paid for the lens.

When I got my lens with Panamoz I got a 3 year sigma warranty plus I also got an add on of a one year replacement guarantee should anything go wrong with the lens. I was wary at first buying from Panamoz but when I looked into feedback and negative comments a bit further I could see that a lot of the negative comments were mostly contrived.

Well no I'm dealing with euro so if I converted my Irish euro to sterling pound it would have costed me more with the poor conversion rate currently

At today's rates €1440 is worth 1176 Sterling. Amazon.co.uk have the lens for 1204 sterling. Today that is a 28 sterling difference.

Panamoz are still a lot cheaper though.

No there not cheaper for me u can't admit your wrong I deal in euro not UK sterling

If you wanna get technical those prices are the market open prices and NOT the figures the banks sell the currency for on a daily rate so basically,

1176£ + 20 delivery to me = 1495 euro conversion rate .80 eu to the pound

Amazon Spain €55 cheaper than that company I never heard of

I rest my case

It wasn't abusive I'm sorry you feel it was but it's my opinion and one word isn't out of line especially that word, take it with a pinch of salt we don't live in a perfect world :-)

Actually it was abusive. We may not live in a perfect world but we do run a forum based on a friendly community ethos, where that word is not an acceptable response under any circumstance.

 thanks Shane
