Yes
I seem to be getting lots of blotches on my photo's using my Sigma 24-70mm. I've tried cleaning the lens and I can't see anything on it, anyone any ideas ?????

looks like dust bunnies to me
high aperture (judging by DOF on your picture)?
try another lens with f/22 and see if muck artefacts are in the same place

Sorry for being ignorant but is that a job I can do my self? I have a Canon 400D.

You can buy arctic butterflies and the like to do it your self, althuogh it might require a wet clean. Put it this way I wouldn't touch it with yours let alone mine. But it all depends on how confident you feel.

I hadnt noticed but its the same with my 10-20mm but they don't show up anywhere near as much. On close inspection though they are there and in the same place so must be sensor.

Sometimes a blow with a rocket blower will do the trick. Did when I had one.

Check out these links, should give you all the info you need, or you could take it into your local camera shop and get them to do it, but they'll charge you about what it would cost for you to do about 10 cleans yourself and I've heard mixed reports on this type of service, with comments like "came back worse than it went in" etc

I used products from these guy's, just swabs and sensor solution

Avoid a product called dustaid its :gag:

I use a rocket blower and sensor clean pen, maybe not as effective as a wet clean but touch wood always been o.k for me and quick. Just make sure you blow off the sensor well first as any gritty dust could scratch it.
