Is there a Capture NX 3 on the horizon?

Yes
Still on Capture NX 1 and thinking of upgrading to NX 2, but as that's been out a while I'm wondering is NX 3 is on the horizon. Anyone know any more?

Just don't want to upgrade and then find another upgrade is on offer.

Also, as a side question, does NX 2 work on Windows 7?

NX2 works on W7, both 32 & 64 bit. There is no codec for 64 bit though.

No idea about NX3.

I use freebie versions- hate the idea of forking out £129 for a bit of software that canon give for free!

Canon give a full raw converter with Photoshop-lite style editor that includes a powerful and unique image selection system (U-Point)?

I mean NX for me does everything I need, so much so that I have no need for Photoshop and frankly U-Point beats anything else I've seen for easy selective edits. The price is well worth it.

I don't know about Canon raw converters, but with Nikon, NX is the only converter that does the job properly. The converters for Photoshop etc just aren't as good.

Unless you meant View NX, but that's something entirely different, and yes I don't feel a viewer should be something you pay for.
