is this tamron lens EOS compatible?

I'm sorry, but this is just plain wrong

NO canon bodies have a built in AF moter - canon AF is ALL lens based.

That lens will work fine with any Canon DSLR body.

Wrong.

It'll work with all EOS cameras. The EOS system isn't like Nikon with the AF-D (screwdriver-type) and AF-S (AF motor in lens)..... EOS-fit lenses have the AF motor in the lens so work universally across the system. That's why, aside from EF-S lenses with their protruding rear element (designed for crop sensor bodies), all EF lenses fit all EOS cameras (film and digital), even those lenses from when the system was launched back in 1987.

Spot the Nikon user :D

As other posters have said, it'll be fine. However, another lens to consider is the Canon 55-250 IS, which is generally held in higher regard, at relatively little extra cost :)

I will second that. The 55-250IS is a very underrated lens.
