if iso is on auto then everyhting else may as well be on auto as the results will be the same.. ie unusable pictures becauee the camera got the exposure wrong... and that does happen a lot in adverse conditions with varying light.
If I want to be macho i undo some shirt buttons and put on a big gold medallion and a stick on handlebar moustache.
Nikon d have pretty sophisticated auto iso
whats with all this macho manual stuff? modern cameras know exactly what they're doing 95% of the time. I often shoot on manual but with auto ISO - means I get the aperture and the shutter speed I want every shot.
Dave Pickett said:auto iso on P with my nikons. min shutter speed, only increases iso when it needs to, perfect for most of my shooting which is show jumping - often in poor light. just setting the camera to do what any decent photographer would do anyway.
