I have registered on here recently and find you all very friendly and the advice is clear and to the point. I have brought my first dslr camera(well xmas prezzie off the wife). I have had a little play with it and took a few pics that i posted on here a week back. But now the mrs has wrapped it up and put it under the tree:bang:, since then ive unwrapped it and familiarised myself with the setting etc as ive looked up things i was not too sure off but had to wrap it back up again. All i wanna do now is have it so i can go snapping but im not allowed too.

ITS KILLING ME:bonk:

Not long to go...

I would at least get the manual out and start reading ready for the big day... ;)

CHARGE THE BATTERIES!!! nothing worse than a new camera and waiting for the batteries to charge.. believe me I know :)

I feel your pain, I'm in between DSLRs at the moment (my 450d is packaged up ready to sell but my D200 hasn't arrived yet)

Luckily it's a good excuse to get out and about with my film gear. :D

chuckle ............... shows you haven't done this before!!!!

Take the camera out of the box then re-wrap the empty box

Play to your hearts content then :)

Man I seriously hope my Missus aint reading this or I am one dead person

I know the feeling too. I recently dug out my old film cameras to have a play. I've ordered 10 rolls from the internet, but until they arrive I can't use the cameras. The fact that they are just sitting there, beckoning, just makes it worse.

Ive keeped the manual out and have flicked through it every night so far far 5 days. Had the battery on charge too ready for xmas day. Feel like a kid again. Cant wait, dont wanna wait want it now(stamping my feet)

I was just doing some googling and i did a search on dslrs. It seems that nobody knows why but if a new dslr was purchased recently and played with, then wrapped for christmas without the manual, THE CAMERA WILL VAPORIZE BEFORE CHRISTMAS MORNING...

Im new at all this so i brought the sony a330 with lens kit. The mrs has just wrapped it back up, the box that was empty and the carry bag that it was all in including the fully charged battery all been wrapped:sulk:

i sense you may think your camera is an 'i'm new at all this model'
i am sure its capable of taking far better photographs than you will be able to at first..so be happy with it...and calm down...its only an advert for esure insurance:D
