I currenlty have an 80GB iPod 5th Gen full of music (literally full!) and sync'd with iTunes (obviously). I pick up my new 32GB iPone next week, mainly for business use but also some videos and music when I am away with work.

My question - can I sync both an iPod and iPhone with one iTunes account or will I have to set-up a new log-in on my Mac and a new iTunes account to make 2 versions of iTunes (if you get what I am saying?).

There must be loads of people out there running iPods and iPhones...

You can sync more than 1, i sync an iPhone, Touch and iPod onto mine.

What you do is create a playlist, I named mine "iPhone" and then in the sync screen, tick sync iPhone and it'll just sync that.

So you'll need to go through your music, select the song and add to that playlist and keep it under 30G, I would make it under 28G, and give the phone space for apps and stuff.
 
In short, yes.

You need to plug your i phone into itunes to activite it and Itunes "knows" its an iphone. It will pop up in "my devices" the same as your ipod does. You can run your ipod same as you always have.

I do exactly that at the moment.
 
Cheers for the quick answers. I thought it would be the case as many people 'buy-in' to the whole Apple/Mac 'experience'.

I know you can't sync more than 1 iPod as I have a Nano and Classic.

I didn't know that, I sync have an iPhone and a nano for the gym and sync both without any problems, but didn't realise you couldn't sync 2 iPods, have they both got different names?
 
Your allowed 5 authorised computers and unlimted 'iPods' although iPhone and Apple TV's fall under this Category to be sync'd with an iTunes account.
