Im thinking of buying the 99 squid jessops 360AFD Digital Flashgun for my Nikon, is it a worthy buy? I had a flash for my film camera, but hardly ever used it! So, my questions are; Is it good, and is it good for the money?

That goe's out to who ever has owned one. Im not too sure what to llok for in a flash gun :shake:

Why not spend another thirty quid or so and get a proper Nikon one, that'll be worth something if you decide to sell it later on?
 
I cant find one for 130 beans!Im not after a horseshoe either ;)
 
Look for slightly older models in second hand shops. Its how i got a excellent condition 430ex for my canon for £60 :D

There is a list of second hand dealers that is REALLY worth checking out in the market place

I cant find one below £149 (purdy and morris) at the moment, so if anyone knows where I can save a few bob please let me know.
 
They do seem to have gone up just recently, i remember seeing one for £125 not so long back, there are a few on ebay with a few days to go if you fancy bidding :shrug:
 
I bought one of the Jessops flashguns for my Canon. I had gone out intending to buy the Canon 430EXII gun but as I would not use it very much I was talked into buying the Jessops AF360

I now wish that I had spent the extra for the Canon flash. There are a number of settings that should be available on a dedicated flashgun that are still grayed out with the Jessops gun. The second curtain sync setting fires the flash at the beginning and the end of the exposure. I also had some major problems with the exposure being way out the first time I used it. I am not sure that the problems I have experienced are definately down to the flashgun or that I may just have a faulty one. I have only had it a month and have not really had a chance to test it.

It could also be that I am doing something wrong but I would now agree with previous suggestions that you buy the Nikon flash if you can
 
T4 in Swindon have a used sb-600 in there at the mo, its mint as well, they want £119 for it but if you ask them they may be able to do something on that price, after all if you dont ask you dont get.
 
I have the Jessops flash, it is OK for a first flash, but nothing special.. I plan on getting some RF 602 triggers and a Yongnuo 460MKII for off camera flash.. £40 for the flashgun! not too bad at all.. I have seen good results with one too..
 
I have the jessops 360AFDN for my D90, it's not bad and you can turn the flash head full circle :)
 
I've got them in Sony and Nikon fit, and find them fine. For the £40 or so quid you'll pay last time I looked they do the job quite well.
