Hi Team,

I am going to do a jewellery shoot with models this sunday. I have the below kit:-

1) Studio lights (One recta softbox and one beauty dish)
2) Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8
3) Nikon D750

Would request your help that whether i can use 70-200mm lens for jewellery shoot.

There is a good argument for longer lens in this:
the reflected high lights will look just as bright and sparkling but somewhat
smaller and less distracting in relation to the model.

The right focal length has to be picked carefully as it may compress the
perspective too much. My experience goes between +/- 85 to 105 mm

The 70-200mm is a great lens for portrait/model photography so would be great to get pics of models wearing the jewellery. If you also want just the jewellery then the 70-200mm wouldn't be ideal for close ups as it has quite a large min focus distance.

No reason why you can't use he 70 - 200mm lens, as long as you have enough shooting space.
But what you should really be thinking about is the lighting. For jewellery shots I generally use very hard lighting on the model, assuming that she has the bone structure/complexion for it, but soft lighting is needed on most jewellery, which means taking a separate shot of the jewellery and then using PP. Or it can be bodged in PP, but it won't be as good.
