Just how much vignetting?

Looking at the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR and I read of vignetting in FX format on the Mk1 but not on the Mk2 - anyone any experience of the Mk1 on FX?
Is the vignetting really a problem?

No. Not for me it wasn't. I very rarely shot wide open with it. But when I did, my copy didn't have major problems with it. I really had to look to notice anything at all.
Maybe some others will come on here now and tell you that theirs was dreadful.
It is a very good lens and I certainly wouldn't let vignetting stop me from buying it.

Kev.

Almost all lenses will vignette on full frame cameras when shot wide open.

I don't think the VRII is any difference to the VRI in that regard.

The 70-200 VR "issues" were always over-blown IMHO.

170mm 2.8 no crop. 70-200 VR1 You'll see the vignetting. I can live with it to be honest.

A fuss over nothing TBO, great combo. You may want to check out your D3's shooting menu, Vignette Control
