Did my first newborn shoot a couple of days ago. I had somehow imagined it would be a doddle. Simply ask Mum to place nicely sleeping baby as you wish and click away. None of this mucking about or non-cooperativeness that older kids do.
LOL. Wrong. What an eye opener. Far more difficult than I imagined with baby wakeful and demanding breast feeding, Mum wanting to hold him up for shots in three hats that she'd brought and then being surprised that her hands were in the shot, her almost demolishing the set with her backside, me getting more stressed than is reasonable and the basket my missus had got was really too tall.
Great learning experience though and, after viewing the shots last night, she was over the moon with them. Here's a selection for you to crit, your feedback and advice always appreciated and heeded. (Yes, the first ones are a bit Rob Mank influenced. As far as I'm concerned he is 'the man' where little one portraits are concerned. I love his stuff)

Blew the hell out of the white scarfy thing. Will make sure to use coloured or position differently in future.

(I know I cut the hand off on this but it's the only shot I got where he wasn't active or grizzling)

I know there are some glaring PP artefacts in these. His mum's hand was on the front of the blanket and her other hand on his left arm. I did the best job I could in removing them but I'm no Photoshop expert. But for the 7x5 prints she says she's getting done it will hopefully be okay.
As always guys, thanks for looking and for any comments.
