Kenko Pro 300 TC - Will it work on a Canon 300mm?

Looking at some chrimbo goodies and I was thinking of getting a Kenko Pro 300 TC. My question is if I change to a Canon 300mm lens, will it work OK with that?

yes, i've used a kenko 1.4x pro 300 DG on a 300mm f/4 L IS and a 300mm f/2.8 L without any problems.

Do you have to tape the pins?

Not with a 1.4x but you would have to with the 2x
