Hi all,
I picked up a mint 1DS MKii last night for a pretty good price and only 6.5k clicks. Was delighted to have secured the camera but a few tests shots have shown a problem with (I presume) the shutter.
Any shot taken over about 1/250 sec shows white banding down one long edge (top in landscape, left in portrait format). As you increase the shutter speed the white band becomes more obvious.
A couple of questions I'd love answers to...
1) Would you agree it sounds like the shutter is going? (Disappointing when it is rated at 200k clicks! I think the shutter reading of 6.5k is genuine given the great condition of the camera)
2) Who would you recommend using to replace the shutter? (Price / service-wise? Also - is there any chance Canon would do it for free given the low shutter count?)
3) Anyone got a rough idea of cost? I have a feeling I've seen prices around the £200 mark?
Many thanks
Phil
