Going up for a visit in June with some friends. Need a great boozer we can Sleep, drink and eat in...

Not one of these new fangled ''chains'' an old fashioned boozer. Can anyone recommend, before I start the trawl!

Just a couple that I thought of straight away, as I live here I don't really have the need to stay over !

Kirkstone pass inn, right on top of the Kirkstone pass and has amazing views.

I've never had a bad meal at the White Lion in Patterdale. Never stopped overnight though.

Also only a short walk to Ullswater, which has to be one of the prettiest lakes.

Queens Head Troutbeck. Kirkstone Pass inn also as above. Both supposedly haunted. Queens head has great food and accomodation. Kirkstone inn a lot more basic.
