Love the architecture but did you
forget to keystone it, Barry?
 
Something I quite like about Edinburgh is the three-dimensional quality given by the hills - like multiple intersecting layers of roads and buildings.

This one's not for me - I need to see the buildings all the way to the ground.

Sure.... I was in two minds. The ground doesn't exist from this viewpoint - I was intrigued by the chimney stacks though.

Thanks for your thoughts though Toni - it would've been easy to just dismiss it.

Barry, some twenty years ago, I was invited to contribute
(along with 8 other photographers) to a book on the city
of Paris. The book had 8 chapters with different themes
and I picked "Les toîts de Paris".

This is not the way I would have taken that picture but it
certainly reveals that Edinburgh has a lot of potential in
that regard… and that's why I like it!

Daniel ... given the time I had and only the little X20 it's the best that could've happened (IMO).

I would love to go back with my dSLR and a 'packet' of lenses and do a 'better' job of it. As you said, there's plenty of potential.

The roofs of Paris.... now there's an opportunity. Start from Montmartre I should think :)
