Hello

Is anyone using this combination? What is your workflow/settings to prepare the scan for import into your favourite editor. I have the 4990 which is loads of res for 4x5

Thanks

I've got Vuescan but actually prefer Epsonscan for LF on my V700. Worth a look if you have a copy?

This is the process I use for VueScan (for all negatives, not just large format).

Bear in mind that I scan them as RAW DNG files and then invert them with Negative Lab Pro, but you should still be able to output a positive this way. Or, as Peter says, use Epsonscan, which also works well (for B&W at least).

I use the 4990 with Epson scan. I have figured out a way to get 3200 dpi, on 4x5, indicated resolution for huge tiff files, do not know what it is really.

@PeterSpencer uses or has used that combination and says it is good.

Nice thank for sharing, yeah Martin Henson showed DBW scanning on his yt which is cheap and theres NegPy an open source version, too tight/dont shoot enough to pay for lightroom and neglab

Great good to see others using, i read the native res is only 1600-2000 but some over sampling can help
