Lens Adapters

Hi, My dad has a normal SLR camera with a few lenses and they fit to his camera simply by screwing on to it, however mine is the twist and turn type. His lenses are AutoFocus so would be cimpatibile if there was some kind of lesn adpater that i could purchase. So, if you know of a lens adapter that converts a screw type fitting to a twist and turn (On Minolta/Sony camera's) then will you please let me know.

What makes are the cameras ?

I suspect you can get a ring that will allow the screw in lenses to fit, usually 42mm thread, but none of the electronics will work, ie the af or aperture. So they would be fully manual if they did fit.

Thanks for that, i ahdnt thought about the electrics i think i may sell the old lens or trade them for some old minolta fit ones for my sony.

It's possible to get a M42 to Minolta/Sony adaptor

Ebay has them

You will lose autofocus and auto stop down, but they should be usable.
