Yes
I have a Sony body, and some old Canon lenses from an old SLR which I would quite like to use again. Is there anything on the market that can marry the two together? Otherwise I'll have to sell the lenses and put the money towards a nice new lens.

Cheers,

Rob

not sure

i recently saw a different body and differnt lens on here and didn't even know it was possible

what sony body have you?

I've found something similar for a Nikon lens and Canon (I think?) body, so was hoping there might be something for a Sony body.

I've got the A-100 - but looking to upgrade to the A-500 or A-550, and then keep the A-100 as a spare/back up.

there's millions of camera/lens adaptors on ebay, probably worth a search

are the old lenses bayonet fit or a very fine screw thread ? :)

canon FD then , i reckon you aint got much of a chance of this happening to be honest , would like to be proved wrong though :)

You can't do it.

The lens registration distances of the Canon FD mount and Sony Alpha mount are 42mm and 44.6mm respectively. So in principle one could mount a Sony/Minolta lens on a Canon FD camera (using an adapter which is 2.6mm thick), but not the other way round.

Chapter and verse here.

I've never heard of most of those.

Was there really a "Bolex" mount?!

I've heard of people in the US machining the FD mount to fit other bodies, but I've no idea what this would cost, so I don't know if it would be worth it to you. Some of the FD lenses were superb, so it might be, but you would have to use the lens in stop down, manual focus, mode. This is feasible, but can be a pain.

The other option of course it to pick up a cheap film camera with the right lens mount...

I have the film camera to go with the lenses already, which is why I am loathe to sell them, and had hoped I could get an adapter so I could keep both, and keep the versatility of it all.

Oh Well, worth asking anyway.

Cheers for your help guys!
