Lensbaby?

Why do they call it a lensbaby? I find the name incredibly annoying.
 
This morning I got out of my bedbaby and the had a cup of teababy, then I had a showerbaby.

You can't just put the word baby after a word it's irritating
 
while i also agree that the name Lensbaby is annoying (Cant even put my finger on why...Just an unquantifiable "something" about it..)
On the photoshop front,i dont really give a monkeys as long as it does what i need. :thumbs:
I would guess its because there's a lot more "work" that can (and often is) done to an image in PS than in the darkroom..They want to get peoples creative juices flowing or something... meh ..who knows! :)
 
It doesn't really matter why Photoshop is called what it is. There is nothing annoying about the name photoshop, it sounds good.

Lensbaby on the other hand is irritating beyond all belief

It does matter because Photoshop isn't annoying buy lensbaby is. Why would you call your product something that is irritating?

And next time quote me in full please as I already explained why Photoshop's name doesn't matter but lensbaby does
 
My girlfriend asked me "What do you want for christmas". I replied "A lensbaby". "No problem baby, what type of lens do you want". "A lensbaby". "Yeah, I know, but what type of lens". "A lensbaby!".... "huh!?!"

I don't find it at all annoying, and the name has stuck in your head and made you bring it up on a forum, thats great advertising because im about to go research their products! :)
 
If it had a great name that would have happened too, plus now I'll never buy one cos the name is so annoying, whereas that wouldn't be the case if it had a good name

So, you won't buy something because it has a name that you find annoying? Yet, you have said that if the name was good it wouldn't stop you buying? :thinking:

Hope you like the name Ketchup because any other brand on sausages is just not the same :lol:
 
Why is this such a big deal? It's just a flippin' product name for crying out loud! :thinking:

What would you have preferred they'd called it? It's an easily recognised name and considering its simplicity, I think 'baby' is a good description... It's a lens but not a 'fully fledged' one! ;)

To not consider buying something just because of its name seems, well... babyish! ;)

It's not a major deal it's just incredibly irritating, I just don't understand why someone would name something such an annoying name
 
it appears in this thread that your the only person annoyed by it. I personally think excessively so

It is not 'irritating' it is the name of a brand.

A brand I knew less than nothing about this morning but am interested in what it offerers now. Thanks.

I'm just stating that I find the name irritating. That's all. I'm not making a major deal about it.

It's an annoying name, end of.

Go and get one... They're not massively expensive and they're great fun to play with. :) There are a quite a few groups on Flickr dedicated to 'em if you want to have a look to see how versatile they can be.

You sound like you are saying that because something is the name of a brand it can't be irritating, like it's only one thing or another. The name of a brand can and is irritating in this case.

If you had quoted me in full there would have been no need for your comment, as I had already covered that part.

Anything but lensbaby! even BabyLens would have been less irritating and had the same meaning

It is a word, made up of regular characters from our Roman alphabet and, as such, cannot be 'irritating' unless you particularly want to be irritated by it.

I think there are far greater thing to be irritated about in this world than the name of a quite imaginative niche product from the imaging industry. But then I have a grip on reality.
