Moning im trying to find a solution to this cold weather and camera equiptment freezing

Sunday night i left my camera out all nite to capture star trails by the morning my lens was completly frozen on the outside glass and battery complely dead i had a towl wrapped round the camera so wasnt at all frosty

It was minus 6 so its probally the worst it will have to endure

So my question is how can i stop the front element of the lens freezing solid

Was using my samyang 8mm fisheye

I used a camera jacket for the job, fleebay 'snowshell'., but not this sort of long hours. And my hands give it a bit of body warm. You probably can insert a little hand warmer into the jacket once the cam is setup.

Ive actually got a jacket for it but had to be careful as the lens is so wide

in any case the front lens elements will be difficult to keep from not frozen

Yeah i thought maybe some sort of heater blower across the front element but could this just cause more condensation to build up

look up some of the telescope heating things, people usually suggest those.
