I had a session doing some macro photography on some lichens. My setup was an Olympus OMD E-M5 Mark ii with a Panasonic Lumix G 30mm Macro lens. To stay within the optimum resolution of the lens, I used an aperture of f6.3. This gives a DOF of something less than 1mm. So the picture above is the result of stacking 17 images using Zerene.

For this second image of a smaller but more intricate lichen, I took advantage of the high definition mode available on the E-M5 Mark ii. In high definition mode, the camera produces a 36 mb file (as opposed to the normal 16mb) by releasing the shutter 8 times for each image, and moving the sensor between each release. This is from a stack of 9 images taken in high definition, and then cropped to 2300 x 2300, thus achieving a magnification of greater than 1:1.

Yellow lichen is Xanthoria parietina and the grey lichen is Physcia adscendens. Good pictures.
