Yes
I experimented a while ago with light writing using glow sticks but I want to get something a bit brighter and longer lasting. I have looked at torches but not sure what's best, could do with any advice people have in this sort of thing

Well you could do worse than having a look at the light junkies group on Flickr. As a starter you could try a key fob LED about £1.50 from your local garage.

You could try one of 3 ways of writing. Facing camera you could 1. Write backwards. 2. Write normally then flip it in PhotoShop or facing away from camera 3. Write onto the background

There's also an app for the iPad called Penki for writing words.

Otherwise, a bright torch or wire wool

I'm ok with the technique just need the better equipment. How does the wire wool work exactly?

Stick it into something, a wire whisk is good, light with a 9v battery shorting it out and wave it around. Lots of sparks flying.

Oh yes! Only cost about £5 but dont do it inside!! This link shows you how!

Great link Rob - very informative, and I'm sure going to give it a go myself. Also looks like the guy has some other great ideas and instruction for unusual trick photography!
Thanks

I quite like the look of this and im thinking of attempting it myself. Slightly concerned about the sparks though, are they hot? Do I need to be concerned about starting a fire somewhere?
