Thanks to you each and all. I am the first to admit that luck played the major part in capturing this once-in-a-lifetime image.
There is nothing especially remarkable about photographing lightning. Like shooting a sunset, it relies heavily upon having an interesting foreground.
In this instance we were at Five MIle Beach essentially for a walk, the tide just happened to be out when the storm blew in.
Had the tide been in this picture would not exist. :shrug:
