Lightroom 3 Backup Regime?

Hi all,

Just a question about how I can fix Lightroom 3 so it backs my photos up properly. At the moment, it makes a backup of my catalog file every week or so, as well as backs up anything I import onto my second hard disk. At the moment it organises my photos on My C drive as 2009/2009-01-20 as an example, however on my D drive it will put the photos in a folder such as "Imported on XXXX". How can I change the settings in Lightroom 3 so the folder structure is the same on my D drive as C so I can easily apply my catalog to the backups on D if/when C fails?

Thanks in advance,

Tom.

There is no setting Lightroom to mirror your C drive folder hierarchy.

The easiest way i have found is to choose a drive that you wish to import your images to and then create a single folder called My Photos (you can call this what you want)

EG C:\My Photos

Periodacally, copy your C:\My Photos over to your D drive and this way you have a true sync

Nothing at all? 0.o Is it just me or is the backup function it has built in pretty useless the way it does it...It's not like it's a big ask to order the photos in the same way in the folder you send the backups to!

Sorry for bringing this back from the dead. How do you get Lightroom 3 to back up to the folder "Imported on xxxx". I was able to do this on Lightroom 1 & 2, but it doesn't do it any more on Lightroom 3. So annoying.
