Lightroom web uploading

Not sure how to word my question and so searches on the forum just turn up a load of rubbish but...

I would like to use lightroom to upload to a free web hosting service such as Picassa/ Flickr/ photobucket. Can it do it? And can anyone point me to a tutorial or something to show me how?

Thank you,

Chris

What you need is an export plug in for the service you want to use.

There are a few Flickr ones available the main one is paid for, but there is also a free one (not as good IMHO).

The one I use is from here - it's very good and has a free trial, after which it limits you to 10 images per upload but you can donate a small amount to revert this restriction.

An interesting thing is that in the Lightroom developer kit there is a step-by-step example of how to write a Flickr export plugin so if you're handy with coding then it's easy to create your own!

There isn't really much explanation on how to create it, it is already created and referred to in the documentation.

Having said that I think Jeffrey's is better...

Lightroom 3 is going to have that built in. If you search for the beta you can download it and have a play. It's great for flickr, you can even see and add comments directly from Lightroom.

I love Jeffrey's plugins - I have three or four of them and think they're well worth a donation to fully unlock them. He updates them regularly too.

Another option for Flickr users is the free flickroom app which gives you a Lightroom-like view of Flickr and is pretty good for managing keywords, comments, uploads etc.
