Im not sure an MB10 grip is worth £200 to me, when i have seen some grips for sale made by "link delight" Has anyone used these ?

Also there are two versions, one has an LCD screen and one has just a joystick control pad, im not sure which to buy ?

I dont want to waste money and i already have two ENL3 batteries.

Or am i better off in the long run just buying the official MB10 ?

I wouldn't (and didn't) get the one with the timer... it doesn't do anything that the camera can't do itself, and will just be more awkward to hold...

I did a mini 'review' of the normal one, it's in the review section... my two get hard, regular use in a professional capacity and are durable and long lasting :)

I bought the joystick version, and have been happy with it, the few times I've used it. Like you, the Nikon original was not worth the money for me, so I got the Link Delight version. I got it mainly for the possible increase in frame rate with the D300, with the D300S I have now though, the frame gain is not as significant, though if I was taking pictures at a sporting event, mainly in portrait orientation, I would use it.

As for the LCD version, I'd stick to the basic copy and not complicate things.

I purchased the grip without the LCD screen for my D300 some months ago.
The fit is good, the quality and construction is holding up, and the controls work as they were designed to. I don't use it too much unless I'm going to be doing a long shoot otherwise the sheer mass of the camera and grip is substantial. The grip is a good fit.

Have the non LCD one, dont use it that much but hard to imagine the proper one being any better. Seems solid and well made and greatvalue for money.

All grips naturally suck balls, but yes, the LinkDelight one is essentially identical to the Nikon.

In fact, if you changed the logo on it from "Meike" to "Nikon" I reckon 99% of folks wouldn't know or be able to tell.

I do think putting a grip on such nice bodies is akin to public self-flagellation, but the LD version is good as far as grips go.

I think the original Nikon may be the same shape, but is better made from metal instead of plastic so I've read on forums. Whether that is worth the huge price difference is another thing. ;)
