Look after your equipment

I've had a bit of a nightmare the last week or so. First of all I had flu last week (not known which type) but I was going stir crazy in the house so I decided to do some gardening on Sunday. In my slightly off kilter state I accidentally sprayed myself in the eye with weed killer. The week killer brings on conjunctivitus which then spread to my other eye. After spending most of the day at the hospital on Monday they also noticed somthing up with my retina so I had to go back for more tests yesterday. This included a flourocine test which turns your blood yellow so they can check the back of your eye. It also turns your skin yellow and all bodily fluids flourecent yellow!

Thankfully I have just found out that all tests are clear and I've not done any permenant damage but it certaitly made me stop and think. Forget your megapixels and L lenses your eyes are the only bit of kit that really matters so look after them!

agreed. i managed to poke myself in the eye with one of those pointy tubes of sealant a year or two back. i ended up grazing my eyeball. i could of lost my eye.. makes you think.

Definitely. One of my friends has a degenerative eye condition where his eyeball is basically collapsing - like a deflating balloon. Hearing all the stuff he has to go through to have the condition stalled (injections into the eye anyone?!) definitely makes me realise that we shouldn't take good health for granted.
