TBH I'm not a 3D fanatic and I think the only films i want to watch in 3D are war films and sci-fi's.
i do think panasonic have a good idea though and even though its quite niche at the moment there will eventually be a good amount of followers, reading on the engadget comments there's about 2/3 people who like it out of 100 lol
I recently went to a product roadshow and saw Fuji's effort at a 3d camera. if you can manage to hold the camera at EXACTLY the right position when playing it back the it looks.... ok
The Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 will have a firmware update available shortly for 3D photos (recommended viewed on their Sony 3D TV of course ) But that enables 3D photographing and also on the panorama mode too
this is why I am not liking the 3D revolution, we need to have 2D and 3D for a choice because otherwise we would have to have two versions of everything; camera's, TV's, computers, media systems etc.
