Lost Leaf

Very good capture and rendition of a (IMO) rather
unappealing subject… I love leaves but why this one?
 
Just returned from Oz, where this leaf resided.

It was alone, on a large concrete drive, stood out from the crowd I guess...
 
I sympathise but I guess it's one of those situations that is hard to convey photographically. Either you make the leaf the subject and then you loose the sense of it being alone on a large concrete drive, or you pull back and the leaf just becomes an insignificant spec on a large concrete drive. A wide angle lens down at leaf height with a narrowish DoF to give the driveway dissapearing into the OOF distance may convey the sense of it more. I may have also have removed those other two bits to make the leaf more alone.

I tried to remove the two twiggy things, but my skills are not that good. Did remove a blob in the northeast corner ........

I thought cropping too much made the leaf too big, and maybe loose the context of being "lone".

keeping the day job............:):)
