Lowepro Flipside 400 AW . Question

I have been looking at this bag to carry all my gear in & really could do with some advice please.

Just wondering if users of this bag can shed some light on the actual size of this bag in the form of what it can actually carry please.

I have
Canon Eos 7D (gripped)
Canon 18-55mm mk2
Canon 24-70mm
Canon 70-200 F2.8
Canon 100-400
Sigma 10-20
Canon 430 Ex2 Flash

do any other member manage to get this much gear or similar in this bag all in 1 go.

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

I have found it at £57 on Jessops with a code and it seem a great bit of kit with great reviews.

i think you would struggle to fit all that. but if you fiddle you might .( im not sure on sizes of your lenses)
ive not realy moved deviders around much but i can fit in mine the fallowing.

nikon d700
nikon 70-200 2.8 vr2(attached to camera) hood removed
nikon 24-70 2.8 hood removed
nikon 85mm 1.4g hood removed
nikon 50mm 1.8d
nikon sb600 flash+8x rechargable batts
all 3 hoods in one section
2x spare batterys
camera charger and leads and theres still space to fit some small stuff aswell
 
does anyone own the 102 version? do you rate it? I'm planning on buying one to take to mexico, i have only 1 camera and two lens's (thread hijack i know) :)

I think you might just squeeze it in if you pack carefully. I have this bag and fit in:

7d body
Back up body
Sigma 150-500
28-80
28 2.8
50 1.8
Yn560 flash
Spare battery's and charger

Then iPad in front with filters, notebook, pens, cables etc.

Then monopod on the outside.

Might be able to post a picture of it all in tomorrow if that gives you a better idea on size?

It's a cracking bag and that's a really good price for it, wish I'd seen it at that price!

Not so sure you would get that lot in, best bag comfort wise and overall design I have ever owned if that's any help.

Could always buy one or more of the sliplock lens cases to attach, plenty of places for them

I reckon you would be OK with that lot. I've got the bag and currently fit in:
Canon 60D (gripped)
70-200 f4 IS
17-55mm f2.8
24-105 f4
24L II
Sigma 10-20
430EX
50mm f2.8 macro
Kenko 2x converter

So basically the same size camera; the 70-200, 100-400 and 24-70 will take up roughly the same space as my 70-200, 17-55, 24-105 and 24L; the Sigmas and flashes are obviously the same and the 18-55 roughly the same size as the Macro.

It's surprising how little depth space there is though, so I can't fit the 70-200 in lengthwise (though my other lenses and gripped camera will just fit). The flash won't fit in lengthwise either.

I did move the compartments around slightly but if you didn't move the compartments your 70-200 would fit nicely at the bottom, albeit slightly hard to get to. My 70-200 is a bit smaller obviously so I was able to extend one of the sides down a bit.

You'll be alright, before now I've managed:

7D gripped
Canon 70-200 F4 IS
Sigma 50-500
Canon 24-105
Canon 50 1.8 MkII
Nissin Di866
3x extention tubes stacked,

in the main compartment with ease. Now I've got a second body in there (with lens attached), a 60mm macro and Sigma 10-20. I have had to take out the extention tubes and the bigma, but it all goes in with relative ease still.

It's a fantastic bag and there's so much space and layout options. I've spent a fair while changing it all around trying to make the most of the space with my gear, I seriously need to get out more :lol:

Sorry meant to this earlier, rubbish ipad camera I'm afraid. But theres still plenty of space in there, even with everything I listed further up.

Good choice, you won't regret it!
 
Cheers ACW, greatly appreciated, is it sad that i am quite excited to get my new bag lol, then i can sell this classified 250 it kills my shoulder, shoulder bags are just not for me lol
 
I've got the same bag and I fit in it;

Canon 5D Mark II
Canon 5d Mark I

24-70
70-200
85 1.2
50 1.4
16-35
2x 430ex

Plus don't forget it has the Lowepro slots on the side so if it doesn't all fit just buy yourself a Lens Case and attach it to one of the two sides :D

My new 300 2.8 is now attached on the side and makes the bag HUGE but it's still comfy :D

You'll be fine with the 400 Daz... As the others have said, there's plenty of room in there! In fact, sometimes I think it can be a little too big (which is why I have a Flipside 200 as well). ;)

Noisy around your way today... Loads of Eurofighters overhead! :D

Cheers for advice on flipside, Tell me about it :clap: and few tornado's as well for good measure, some older folks don't like them in the valley, personally i chuffing love them........did you grab many shots??

Didn't even get the camera out today! Far too busy but I really wish I'd taken the day off. I quite fancied being perched on the side of CadWest today! :)

The 'old folks' who don't like 'em number single figures apparently... The little old woman who owns the campsite down the road from your place set up a petition against the RAF and only got a couple of signatures... If I remember correctly, one of them was signed, "Arthur 'Bomber' Harris"! :D
 
Gutted, i have lived here 10 years and still not been on cad west or east, i am not built for hill climbing lol

yes your right about that lady, she protest about everything but that's another story, there are a good number of locals who complain though, not only in Talyllyn but down the valley out towards the coast & Tywyn to :-(

They can try there best but they will never stop them
