m42 lenses on a sony a200

As a beginner i'm trying to build up my lens collection. so far i've got the 18-70 kit lens, a tokina 35-200 f4-5.6(not bad) and the first lens that i bought, a tokina 70-210 f4-5.6 (load of rubbish wont focus to infinity). as i'm ill at the moment and not working so i'd like to spend as little money as possible so was wondering about m42 lenses?:shrug: are they a cheap way to learn photograpy:shrug:

Some of the M42 lenses are very cheap and excellent.

I recommend you spend about £13 on an "af confirm" M42 adaptor, so you will get green dot focus confirm and SSS will still work.

Look for Super Takumar or Carl Zeiss if you want really nice optics.
