Mac memory question

Afternoon all,

One for all you mac types out there.

Can I use the memory from a desktop G4 in a desktop G5, the modules fit but I don't want to fry either the G5 or the memory if they're not compatible?

My suggestion would be to look at "Cowasaki's" upgrade your mac website...

Normally if it fits its ok.

As they change spacing / new slot position to stop incompatible modules from being inserted.

Not sure which G4/G5 you have, but take a look at:

Select your model and it tells you what memory is compatible.

As Robin mentioned, if it fits it shouldn't kill your machine, whether it works will be down to the speed compatibility, ie PC2100 / PC2700 etc.
