Mac question

Simple answer - no... They will still be compatible with Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6)

Unless you cock up the install process, they'll all be there.

Its easy.

Put disc in
Press go
have a cup of tea and a slice of cake.
Come back in 3/4 of an hour
job done

You need an intel Mac to run Snow leopard I think. Frees up about 7gb of space and its faster. Nothing much changed with user interface - its all behind the scenes

There might be a few programs that aren't compatible with 10.6 but these are few and far between (usually smaller programmes rather than mainstream Adobe/Microsoft types).

There is a list here - http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/

Snow Leopard most definitely will not load/update/run on your pre-intel imac. Sorry.
