Macbook Hard Drive Upgrade Help needed.

I have a late 2008 model Macbook Alubody (the one that is non Pro)

I currently have a 160 GB HDD in it and I want to upgrade this to a larger drive.

I am looking for a 320gb to 500gb drive and after looking at sites have got into a confusion (easy to do)

Can anyone recommend a decent drive to change out the standard one.

I have seen this which looks like a good idea, would I be able to use this in it?

If you want to go the SSD route or are giving it serious consideration I'd recommend waiting for OSX Lion and seeing what its TRIM support is like. If you don't know already, TRIM is basically a drive maintenance system designed to prevent the slow-down of SSDs over time, that so far isn't supported by any Apple OS. Once Lion is out we'll know which SSDs are supported and which aren't and you'll be able to make a much more informed choice for the future.

Generally WD and Seagate are the two most popular, certainly in the case of external drives anyway. Reliability of both should be similar unless there's a particularly widely reported problem. As always though, HDs can sometimes fail within months so never trust your data to be safe on just one disc.

Incidentally, my backup external HD is WD and i've had no problems...which reminds me it's probably sensible I back things up again now as it's been a month or so!
 
It's too late now, but depending on the budget I would have gone for something like a Momentus XT drive, as a hybrid drive gives some of the SSD benefits aswell as the high storage capacity of a traditional HDD.
