I have decided to sell or swap my Nikon V1 and get a 550d or 600d so i can go a bit deeper into video.

When i get one i was thinking of putting Magic Lantern on it.

I have read lots of reviews and most people seem to like it, but i was wondering what is the most useful thing it gives to a newbie film maker?

Also many many improvements to the UI like a big red cross on the screen which is removed when you are actually recording so that you don't just sit there staring at the screen thinking that you are recording when you are not (we have all done it by pressing the record button twice:) The little display of how many GB free on the card is so simple but so useful. Peaking is OK, not as good as proper peaking on a camcorder but better than nothing.

When i manage to get a 550d i will be putting ML on for sure.
