Yes it is.

One reason I put it on my camera was the ability to time lapse without an external trigger. There are a few little features, more control over ISO and 'trap focus' may come in handy, I haven't found much use for it though.

Ive known abou tit for ages but only just started using it. It does offer a lot fo nice features that are good for both video and stills, although it was mainly developed for video.

I have had a few issues with it though, not sure if ill stick with it if this keeps happening but its been a boon for video, especially for live focusing.
