Grateful for advice - I know I am going to kick myself for doing something stupid - but I am missing something.
I have a one before the latest iMac - 3.06 - running the latest patch OSX (10.5.8) and trying to make a data disk. I have put in a DVD-R and can find no way of dropping anything to it.
First question. Do the drives in iMacs support DVD-R? A google search seems to suggest they should.
I can find nothing in Disk Utility that appears to format a DVD so that it can be readable and allow data to be dropped onto it.
Second question. Do I need to do this?
I have little need to generally backup to DVD, so not inclined to buy a piece of software to do the job.
If iMacs can only read +R I'll get some tomorrow - prefer not to if it is unlikely to be that. I have a load of -R's!
