Well i have managed to take a day off work and thought today i would have a good day out with my camera...im new to photography and dont get alot of oppurtunities to get out...when i have done, its been with my kids so usually i end up chasing them!! instead of taking pics:|

I helped my wife and kids get ready and off they went....the skies have opened up as they do in Manchester....so now stuck indoors:'(

Sorry for boring you all with this...just thought id share with you my pain hahaha:help:

Go on get out, you can get some great shots in the rain, head into Manny centre and try some street photography, that way you can always dodge in the shops to avoid those downpours.

Time to use your imagination a little Nick.

Option #1
Push the lounge furniture back to the walls, call the local modelling agency and hire a couple of glamour models for the day.
By the time Mrs and kids are back you'll have all the shots processed ready for viewing and she won't be able to accuse you of sitting on your backside all day.

Option #2
Go out and get wet.

Sorted

hmmm sounds a good idea...you see when you new to photography your brain is also new to ideas:thinking:

If your new to photography why not do some indoor practice, have a play in manual mode and master lighting, shutter speed and aperture.

practice some more then :D

Skies arent clearing here 30 miles from you,

what lens do you have, you could try water droplets, make a lightbox and get some of the small kids toys in it do some product type shots, or coloured pencils, drop fruit into water/milk to make splashes, anything,

or maybe go to a butterfly house if theres one near you

Some great ideas their thanks...I have a tamron 17-50 and 70-300

North manchester is not flush with butterfly houses....we have lots of bookies, shut down pubs and pyjama wearing girls that walk the streets:cuckoo:

Clear skies? What are they? I seem to remember one in April, or was it March. So long ago I just can't remember.

Wow, great shots Dave. I want to try the apple and the book one myself!

Ta the apple was suspended with cotton hung over the book, and the light was from behind and above, just trial and error to get the heart the right shape, clone the cotton out in PP, have fun

ive been looking in to making my very own first lightbox:clap:

cool, mine was really simple cardboard box then the side panes cut out and lined the white/balck paper
