Max CF for D70

Evening, could someone tell me what the maximum capacity CF card my D70 can take is, I was under the impression it was 2GB because of the firm ware but the Sandisk site shows it as much more.
I want to get another card or two and I am struggling to find a decent 2GB at a decent price, 4GB are in most cases cheaper I like the idea of smaller cards as if they fail I will lose less photos, 2GB cards give me about 300 photos per card as it is

I've got a 4GB Sandisk Extreme card in mine and haven't had any problems, gives me 717 RAW images on the counter when it's empty.
