Just got back from Bath after a day with the lovely people at the RPS. Some absolutely stunning work from some very talented people. I am determined to widen the scope of my photography this year but I am more than delighted that the people pics I have been concentrating on made it through the judging process.

So I'm now BouncyMelons......LRPS....

One small step but one that means a lot to me.

Ali congratulations but in all honesty I dont know what an LRPS is! Could you explain and I will give proper congratulations? :D

What fantastic news, congratulations, really well done.
Are you going to display your panel on here? ...I would love to see it, it would, I'm sure, inspire others to take the challenge.

Well done Ali, I suppose we'll have to make appointments from now on:)

Pete

Well done Ali, I'd also love to see what you submitted.

Did you get good feedback?

I did get some excellent feedback and I'd probably do it different if I were to do it again.

I do have a hanging plan somewhere so I will look it out and post it later :)

Thanks folks, I'm really chuffed because I didn't have the chance to go to some of the workshops or judging in advance so it was done a bit blind. (Most of my photography looks that way anyway!)

Congratulations Alison. It's almost a year since I got my "A" and I can still remember the feeling.

I thought of you today Paul :) That's really something else and one I will start to consider and plan for. I reckon on at least a year! The one thing that I have taken from RPS and that I'm beginning to work on it that my photography has been very people focussed and while that can be OK I'd like to widen the scope a lot so I'm starting to get my head up and look a lot more at the world around me.

The net result is that I will probably be posting a lot of dross on here! :D

Congrats Ms Melons

Congratulations - very well done.

That is my aim for this year, put a panel together ready for submission.

:clap:Congrats Ali:clap:

I quite look forward to seeing you pop up unexpected........in the transport forum say :p

I have to admit, it's been a good week photographically.

I made a lady cry on Sunday because I took a nude of her that she did not think possible. That's worth so much to me it's not measurable.

I went to see Jerry Ghionis in London and came away knowing "That's what I want to do!"

Got the LRPS.

Not a bad week. Now I need to go back to work tomorrow and got a lot to catch up on. So much for a few days off!

ha ha ha!

Ok so perhaps I should have phrased that one a little better. Someone who does not have a single pic of herself, who won't allow photography anywhere near her and has taken two years to let me do this. She now has a very simple pic of herself in which she can feel proud and it made my day :)

congratulations from crow lrps
its a long hike to a nd the f

good luck

I knew what you meant Ali
And well done on that as well

Good week indeed !!! PAH

That meagre list doesn't mention talking to me for 2 hours - Grrrrrrr :bat:

Oh, and the LRPS, well done babe - I didn't even realise you were going for it - but now you MUST post the images here or else we won't believe you (well I won't anyway :suspect:)

I know :)

Thanks everyone. As you can tell, I'm still buzzing so I'm off to have a glass or two of wine and some sleep. ;)

lol I did keep it a bit quiet Dave, not one to tell till I've actually done it :) I still have a lovely list of things to do to the website so thanks very much for that and now I can add a little bit to the "about" section. ;)

Very well done Ali  :)

I had a similar response from a lady that after I did a painting of her dog that had died, that sort of response makes it all worthwhile doesn't it. Congrats by the way.

Well done Alison :D will you post a thread with your successful contributions?

LRPS = Large Round Pink Squidgies. :naughty:

Glad you done OK with this after running my mobile bill up the other evening. I was thinking of you.

Now we'll have to see them.................and your panel.

Need some help with sorting out a website too. Been talking about it for about 10 years. Still done nothing about it.

Coffee in Buxton/Stockport agian some time soon eh?

Congratulations from me Ali, I would imagine you grow a very warm glowing smile when you think of your week

Anything that makes you think about your photography and try new things has to be good. The flip side is that I am aware I need to shoot people more and build my skills in that area! I tend to treat them as furless animals and not subjects in their own right!

Hope the hangover isn't too bad and congrats again. Please show us the panel. It's something to be proud of. From the mention of a hanging plan, I presume you did it as prints? There's something about a print panel that I think is fantastic and its great to see your work displayed in that way.

I'm starting to hunt out opportunities for my "F" but its a long slog. Won't be 2010 and may not be 2011.

Paul

Brilliant!! Congratulations old girl :)

Could you point me in the right direction so I can do it to?

Congratulations Ali!
Stunning achievement!
