Memory cards

I have 1D mark 1v and have used just CF cards upto now but Is the SD Memory card equally as good as it certainly cheaper or should I stay with CF. I shoot.just football. Also have a 7d. Thanks

I'm sure someone can give you a techy detailed breakdown about write speeds etc (probably be covered over on Rob Galbraith etc) however as a mark iv user, I use CF & SD cards and have never had any problems. I usually have camera set to automatically switch cards when one is full, that way you can choose when you stop to change cards rather than being forced to stop.
Given SD is significantly cheaper, go for a decent one, it'll still be cheaper than CF....

As I understand it CF reads and writes quicker, which is why the big manufacturers stick with it as de rigeur for their line of pro cameras.

I have my Mk IV set the same as Sal, and when shooting sports have never noticed when its switched from CF to SD.
