Middle Hill Common 25 May

I had a brief visit to a local nature reserve today. As has happened before at this site, I didn't find much (which is why it turned out to be a fairly brief visit). Here are some photos from this visit, taken from this album at Flickr. At least I saw two of my favourite flies, the Dung fly and the Scorpion fly, which was nice.

I think it is a picture-winged fly Chris. I tried to get photos with the wings in focus but none of them worked out.

It can be very rewarding Gil - well worth a try to see if you like it.

Super set Nick, l've not seen a single scorpion fly this year.
