Hi

Although I signed up years ago, I'm a noob here and don't think I've posted much if anything at all, so hope this is appropriate in this forum.

I've been getting very interest in monochrome scenic images, particularly minimalist subjects. I've attaached a couple of my shots as examples.

I don't live very near the sea and I'm looking for ideas of subjects that I can find nearer to home (Hertfordshire). Any ideas anyone may have would be most welcome.

Thanks

Richee

I hope you get suggestions and that you will bring back
such nice shots, Richee!

Currently, oilseed rape fields under clear blue skies would be pretty minimalist, even in monochrome. One of my favourite shots is of the Med under a cloudless sky. The horizon runs straight through the centre of the frame and there's barely a ripple on the sea. Never done a mono conversion on it since it's the blues I like (and it was shot on slide film!)

Use crops or wildflowers maybe? You can do some very interesting long exposures with those on windy days. I do like the examples you posted, nicely composed and edited

Too much detail in the clouds! :p
