Just looking for opinions on these lenses. I have looked as a s/h 70-210 f4 as an alternative to my Tamron 75-300.

Answers on an electronic postcard please

Cheers

Chris

ps.. will be using it on an Alpha 350

do a search - someone asked a similar question the other day vs. a Sigma and put up crops etc.

You won't find better for the money, this shot taken with a beercan and 2x tc

Clickable for a closer look.

I think you would be looking at £600 plus to better this old lens. Ian

Beerecans are excellent if they have been looked after. I got a £1000 sony 70-200/2.8 and it wasn't as good as my £100 beercan. Lovely colours that modern lenses don't give and Minolta were the bokeh kings. Get one and move it on if you don't like it.

I have a beercan with my A350, it's an excellent lens. I would have to spend a lot more to get anything better. Only thing is it is a little slow to focus sometimes. I also have the Minolta 28-105mm which is even better if anything, and even cheaper.

Not tried the 'beercan' but father in law bought the 70-300 G lens end of last year and is very very pleased with it - might be worth a look at
