This is Alex Child, he is a friend of a friend from the Bournemouth area who we've been out with a few times.

He was last heard from on Saturday and his car was found abandoned near Maidstone.

People are extremely worried about Alex and the complete lack of contact, if anyone recognises him or his very distinctive car please get in touch with Kent Police (see below) or if you know anyone in Maidstone/Kent please pass this on to them.

"A family friend has gone missing. At the moment Alex Child is currently a "missing person" if you know of his whereabouts please contact Kent Police on: 01622 690690 Ref: 240527.

He was supposed to be filming in Bognor Regis on Sunday, (possibly with some Chichester College Students/ Students in the West Sussex area?) but his car was found abandoned near Maidstone in Kent. The car is very distinctive so maybe someone will remember seeing it?

Very disturbing story.
That is an old car - Morris Marina Coupe. Manufactured in the 1970's. Certainly is distinctive. Bound to be folk who would have noticed that.

its completely bizarre. the police (from what the family have said) are saying they tracked the car on cctv (i guess using anpr) on the m3 to inside m25 then down to a43 to brighton then hastings and rye to margate. somewhere along the line the car did a drive off from a petrol station. the car was found in a field unlocked.

one of his friends had a missed call 8pm saturday but now the phone says "cannot connect your call" when you call it.

Really feel for everyone involved, We had a similar incident when my son was 9 years old when a neighbour, who collected him for me, abandoned her vehicle and disappeared. Luckily she was found and so was my son as well as a number of her own children...

Hope you find him soon!

Still no new leads, police forensics have been through his stuff and no clued etc

He was wearing plimsoll type shoes, blue jeans, blue fleece, dark hoodie and possibly a hat, either NY logo, red flame type on black background or black fleece with FORTE logo.

Please share this info around, family and friends are extremely concerned...
 
Thoughts are with his friends and family Neil - really hoping that they get some news soon.

Do they have a Facebook page or anything set up for him, it may make it easier for people to pass the story along?
There are also some Missing Persons forums around which it might be worth them joining up to - any extra bit of exposure may help jog people's memories.
